Par 3 challenge day started Day with awarding John Driscoll the championship belt for winning the 2025 match play tournament. The next point of order was the Gold jackets congratulating Chris Gannotta on his retirement and awarding Keith Lippert with the Tony Mastrelli Man of the Year award .
John Sottile had the crowd warmed up with his famous bloody Mary’s while Mike Stack and Justin Horigan wore some vintage golf attire . The boys went out in the cold and found it very tough to land the greens . When the scores came back in we had one legend ahead of the pack . Augie Tufano took his 4 stroke lead to the tee box of the 9th hole and secured the 2025 Par 3 Challenge Cup by out playing John Hansen with his 3 shots in the playoff . Congratulations Augie , a well deserved victory .
Three provisional players went to the same tee box to try and catch up to the early favorite to win the Golden ticket . Billy Pita came in with a 6 stroke lead and was already getting fitted for a club jacket . The only problem was that Gary Delarabba was not going to let him win that easily . Gary landed the green on all three tee shots as Billy Pita shanked them all. It came down to a one shot playoff as they were all tied up and Gary pulled off a miracle comeback to win the Golden ticket over Billy Pita(ful)
Congratulations to Augie Tufano and Gary Delarabba on their incredible victories .
Great turnout from a great group of men !!
