Weathermen suck! Despite the weather going south for a few or more holes, the Men played on! Scores where a bit higher than normal, especially for the Elite Scramble Group who played tip to tip today. This was the first time we had an Elite Scramble group which consisted of all the winners of previous outings going head to head. In this category we had Martin and Lindly on top with a score of 80. There was a 3 way tie for second place; Voos/Poulin, Horrigan/Clappi, and Whelan/Bellew all scoring an impressive 82. The traditional 2-man scramble had Kelly and Martinetion on top with a very impressive score of 70. Next best in that category was an 83 shot by Delgiorno/Marcy.
One of the long drives was taken by Kelly, and we are still waiting on who won the long drive on Dogwood. This was a difficult contest given the rain would have hindered some and not others. There were 4 closest to the pin holes. On top were Delgiorno (15'5") on Spruce#4, Cunningham (16") on Spruce#8, Martinetian (13'4") on Doogwood#5 and Bellew (8'8") on Dogwood#3.
We need all members and probies to sign up for the next outing ASAP. It will be held at Mill Pond on August 8. If you did not receive the signup email, contact Tim Grant immediately. Also, keep an eye out for the signup for club party/new member inductions on August 20. We need to know who is playing 9 holes, and/or attending party. See you in 2 weeks!
