Despite the heat and humidity this week, The All Hands Golf Club had a great outing and golfers were decked out in Red, White and Blue celebrating our pride month. We started out the day greeting old and new friends, followed by our traditional singing of our National Anthem. I don’t know about you, but I still get the chills listening to Whitney’s version from Super Bowl XXV and the emotion it stirred during the Gulf War back in 1991.
Their was some fierce competition out on the links this week and we had some terrific golfers out there including our youngest guest so far, Ben McCarren - son of Danny McCarren. Together, father and son shot an 81!! He also drove that golf cart better than some of the old folks out there. Great Job Ben! We hope to see you out there again! The low score of the day by golfers playing their own ball was once again, Voos (79). A great score by our club president! In second place was Joe Murphy (86). In scramble format our first place team was Clappi and Nolan (72) and in second place we had Horgan and Scottie (79). This weeks longest drives went to Horgan and Spencer Jr. Not Spencer - Spencer Jr!
We had 4 contests for closest to the pin this week- McCarren, Cunningham, Cauley, and Schmanski.
Our next outing will be at Middle Island CC on July 23. It will be an 8am Shotgun start. Looking forward to everyone being there. Once again, it’s pride month so please wear your Red, White and Blue for the greatest and fastest growing golf club in America. PS - did anyone catch the news clip on TV in the clubhouse after our round? Great interview by our club president! Pics below.
